Postby Nysteve on Mon Feb 01, 2010 10:47 pm

Any one that may live around the Westphalinger Rd. area in Clarence Center, that may know the family the Arts that own property on the west side of the road, we r trying to get in contact with them to access and use there property for the trail that would run to the airport on Transit. We r really close to staking this trail Thanks any info would be great.

no replies, but no worries, land owner issue solved. If any of u guys ride this trail, we r working very hard to open this year, i no its feb, but it takes alot. I traveled to Tonawanda today to talk to a landowner on millersport, because we now have a problem when crossing transit heading north east. Stay tuned

Keep up the good work! It is not fun trying to get the landowners permission to get the trail open. Good luck it will be nice to see that trail marked legally.

Ok all u that have ridden the ship n shore trail we r ready to stake from Goodrich Rd all the way northwest. If u have any time to volunteer possibly this weekend, that would be great. An actuall staking schedule should be set after the board meeting on thursday Feb 11th. We also have a possible bypass trail in the works to eliminate the goodrich rd riding to Marvins, it would involve a snowmobile bridge only to cross the creek heading east from northfield rd from the brine line come out through Kelkenbergs farm and end up in the vacant lot north of the church located at wolcott and goodrich. If u maybe available for staking and trail work for this trail u can contact me (Steve @ 716-609-0368)

well over 300 lookers, thats huge. Listen the trail form marvins to ship n shore is staked to new rd. but u have to run goodrich road north to access the trail that goe east to ship n shore. please when leaving marvins or coming from pendleton u have to run the shoulder of the road if u want the ship n shore trail to stay open, yes running the road sucks but that is the way it is. Do not, and I repeat do not cross any ones driveways or cut across any ones yard to grab snow, your sled will not catch on fire for that distance or whatever, u know what i mean. Also please respect all landowners and stay on the marked trail. This trail is still a work in progress, i know its late in the season, but lets show the landowners we can make this trail work. One more note, when u access the airport trail just before transit please stay of the driveway and follow stakes. Thanks a bunch, Steve

Are we supposed to shoot up New Road into Niagara County or are you still working on marking the rest of the trail up through the golf course, wasn't sure what I was supposed to do, so I went up the road. Whoever got the permission to get through the people over on New Road, my hats off to you, this is and always was a fun trail, minus crossing transit and millersport. It makes a nice loop to go around on for me living in Lockport. Took trail to Wolcottsville, crossed over to akron via blue bridge, went to marvins via s41 and got my ten year old a hot chocolate and a tasty beverage for myself, continued up goodrich to the re-established amherst trail into Niagara County, up through by Hebelers and back onto c4d and headed home to Lockport, most trails on Saturday in Niagara were thin need more snow. Very good ride all around though!!! Thanks for getting this trail up and going again!!!!

U r supposed to cross New Rd. when u go beside the tennis court, following brine line , then into woods and enter golf course, the trail is preety beat down and should be easy to follow. We r short on stacking help, just got back in town from 4 day Canada ride, we did not get all landowners finallized till feb, the trail is still work in progress, so please respect landowners and stay on the trail
